• VERMICULITE COATED FIBERGLASS Vermiculite coating off ers improved resistance to direct flame; heat travels across the fabric, not through it.
• SILICA Silica cloth has excellent thermal insulation characteristics over a wide temperature range and resists melting up to 3,000°F; it also has excellent chemical resistance and electrical insulation properties.
• SPLIT LEATHER Leather off ers inherent heat resistance and natural insulation
• CARBON FIBER FELT In addition to excellent high heat resistance, felt is easy to cut and can be conformed to complex curves.Our welding blankets have been tested and approved to FM Standards (ANSI/FM 4950). When selecting the right blanket for the needed application, it is important to consider the following: MATERIAL WEIGHT STRESS RELIEF COATED OR UNCOATED As a general rule, thicker materials will provide longer protection and are recommended for flat surfaces; thinner materials are better for vertical planes. STRESS RELIEF Select an uncoated material such as Silica for stress relief applications. COATED OR UNCOATED Coated materials resist abrasion better, while uncoated blankets are more flexible and can be easily draped around equipment.
