What is Covered?

How Long Coverage Lasts

This warranty lasts for the lifetime of the RIDGID tool. Warranty coverage ends when the product becomes unusable for reasons other than defects in workmanship or material.

How to Obtain Service

To obtain the benefit of this warranty, deliver the complete product via prepaid transportation to Ridge Tool Company, Elyria, Ohio, or any RIDGID Authorized Independent Service Center. Pipe wrenches and other hand tools should be returned to the place of purchase.

What We Will Do to Correct Problems

What is Not Covered

Failures due to misuse, abuse or normal wear and tear are not covered by this warranty. Ridge Tool shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages.

How Local Laws Relate to the Warranty

Some areas do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary, from state to state, province to province, or country to country.

No Other Express Warranty Applies

NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR:

Commonly, our tools are used on job sites in the most demanding applications and environments. Under these conditions and over time, the RIDGID product may experience normal wear and tear and require service. While normal wear & tear is not considered a "defect" and is not covered by the RIDGID Lifetime Warranty, it is our goal to get your tool back in service a soon as possible. To help expedite this service, Ridge Tool offers a complete assortment of service parts and a network of RIDGID Authorized Independent Service Centers to meet your service needs. Our Service Center Network has been Factory Trained to provide quality repair service as well as accurate determination & execution of RIDGID warranty if required. For a complete list of RIDGID Authorized Independent Service Centers visit www.ridgid.com.

DEFECTS IN MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP:

It is our experience that a product that fails prematurely due to a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, will generally do so very early in the products life cycle, often the first or second time the product is used. When returned for inspection, these products are generally found to still be in like new condition and show very little signs of use. It is uncommon for a product that was manufactured with a defect, to survive under normal use for any extended period of time. Products that are returned for warranty inspection after months or years of continuous reliable service are rarely found to be defective. The most common demand for service is the result of normal wear and tear issues, which are not considered to be a defect in materials or workmanship.

The following applies to all RIDGID Brand Handheld Power Tools (corded and cordless), select Stationary Power Tools, Batteries, Pneumatic Tools, Compressors, and Outdoor Power Equipment purchased between Feb. 1 2004 – Present, from an authorized retailer.

Recon Limited Warranty

Reconditioned tools automatically receive a 1 year limited warranty from the date of purchase. Valid receipt from an authorized retailer is required. 3-Year Limited Warranty

RIDGID® Brand Hand Held Power Tools, select Stationary Power Tools, and Pneumatic Tools are automatically covered under a 3-year Limited Warranty. This 3-Year Limited Warranty begins from the date of purchase shown by a valid receipt. If a valid receipt is not available, the 3 year limited warranty period begins from the date of manufacture on originally purchased equipment. For batteries and chargers, if the receipt is not available, and the battery/charger serial code differs from tool console more than 12 weeks, the origin of the battery/charger cannot be verified. In this case, the tool serial code must be used to verify warranty, NOT the battery/charger serial code. Note that all accessory batteries and chargers sold separately must have a valid receipt to verify warranty status since they are not sold with a tool console in a kit.

Lifetime Service Agreement

The original purchaser of an eligible product may elect to register for a free Lifetime Service Agreement. To accept this Lifetime Service Agreement, you must register your product and submit proof of purchase for processing approval as described below. The Lifetime Service Agreement provides the original owner of qualifying RIDGID® Brand tools a lifetime of free replacement batteries, free service and free replacement parts subject to the limitations set forth below.

The Lifetime Service Agreement is available free of charge, on all eligible RIDGID® Brand hand held power tools (corded and cordless), select Stationary power tools, batteries, pneumatic tools, compressors and outdoor power equipment subject to the terms and conditions stated below. Once all conditions of the registration process are fulfilled, the tool’s service coverage lasts the lifetime of the original purchaser. Note: The RIDGID Lifetime Service Agreement is only available for eligible RIDGID tools purchased at THE HOME DEPOT.

Conditions of the RIDGID® Brand Lifetime Service Agreement

To accept the RIDGID® Brand Lifetime Service Agreement, you must register your qualifying RIDGID® Brand Hand Held Power Tool, select Stationary Power Tool or Pneumatic Tool within 90 days after purchase. Register by logging on to www.ridgid.com, click on “Product Registration,” and choose the appropriate product category. Log into your personal account, if you do not have one, create an account. Then click ‘Register New Product’. Include all qualifying RIDGID brand product information: complete model and serial numbers for each serialized piece of equipment, including batteries and chargers. If you don’t have access to the internet, enclose a letter with the following information: First name, last name, e-mail, date of birth, phone number, address, city, state, zip code, model number from package, and the model/serial number of all qualifying serialized tool(s), battery(s), and charger(s) if applicable. Then mail the online confirmation print out or the hand written letter with your original receipt (making a photo-copy of your receipt to keep for your records is recommended) and the original UPC from the qualifying products package to: RIDGID® Hand Held and select Stationary Power Tool Technical Service, PO Box 1427, Anderson, SC 29622 for processing and approval.

All registrations must be made under the name of an individual person. Within approximately 6-8 weeks after completion of the registration process and approval, you will receive confirmation via email or US mail that will include your Customer ID number and verification that the tool has been upgraded to Lifetime Service Agreement status. Keep track of this number as you will need it in order to obtain service for your product under the Lifetime Service Agreement. Note: Handwritten registrations may take longer.

What is Covered? (applies to the 3-Year Limited Warranty, the Lifetime Service Agreement, and the Recon Limited Warranty)

The 3 Year Limited Warranty, The Recon Limited Warranty and the Lifetime Service Agreement covers all worn parts in properly maintained tools. This includes normal wear items such as brushes, chucks, motors, switches, gears and even cordless batteries in your qualifying RIDGID® Brand hand held and select Stationary power tools. These programs also cover replacement rings, driver blades and bumpers on RIDGID® Brand pneumatic tools. This service coverage does not apply to other ineligible RIDGID® Brand products.

What is not Covered (applies to the 3-Year Limited Warranty, the Lifetime Service Agreement, and the Recon Limited Warranty).

The 3 Year Limited Warranty, The Recon Limited Warranty and the Lifetime Service Agreement are only applicable to the original purchaser and may not be transferred. These programs only cover wear and tear or failure of the tool arising under normal usage and proper maintenance. They do not cover any malfunction, failure or defect resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification or repair by anyone other than an authorized service center for RIDGID® brand hand held, pneumatic and select Stationary power tools. Any damage or malfunction inflicted upon the tool by the user or other external sources, or any failure to comply with the warnings and instructions in the operator’s manual is not covered.

Consumable accessories provided with the tool such as, but not limited to, saw blades, planer blades and knives, insert bits, drill bits, grinding wheels and discs, cut off wheels, sand paper, safety glasses and fasteners are not covered.

Any free or promotional serialized piece of equipment provided beyond the contents of the purchased tool kit is not eligible for the Lifetime Service Agreement.

How to Obtain Service

The Lifetime Service Agreement (if accepted), commences after the expiration of the standard RIDGID® 3 year Limited Warranty. To obtain service for this RIDGID tool on either the 3-year limited warranty, the Lifetime Service Agreement, or the recon limited warranty, you must bring the equipment, to an authorized RIDGID service center. You may obtain the location of the authorized service center nearest you by logging on to the RIDGID website at www.ridgid.com. When requesting service under the Lifetime Service Agreement, you must present your Lifetime Service Agreement Identification Number and proper personal identification (a valid driver’s license, passport, or military I.D. or a valid Social Security card with photo ID). If a cordless tool kit requires a battery/charger replacement, the tool console, battery and charger purchased together must be present for proper diagnosis and warranty verification.

Replacement

If a serialized piece of equipment with LSA status is ever replaced, the customer has 90 days to call 1-866-539-1710 and re-register that piece of equipment. Proof of replacement required. Pieces of eligible equipment that are not re-registered within 90 days of replacement are not covered by the Lifetime Service Agreement.

If a serialized piece of equipment without LSA status is ever replaced, the 3-year limited warranty period on the replacement piece of equipment starts from the original date of purchase, not the date of replacement. Note that for this same reason, the serial code of a replacement piece of equipment cannot be used to verify warranty. For batteries and chargers, if the receipt is not available, and the battery/charger serial code differs from the tool console more than 12 weeks, the battery/charger was not sold with the console and therefore the origin of the battery/charger cannot be verified. In this case, the tool serial code must be used to verify warranty, NOT the battery/charger serial code. Note that the replacement of all accessory batteries and chargers must have a receipt to verify warranty status since these items are not sold with a tool console in a kit.

If a serialized piece of equipment is ever replaced under the Recon Limited Warranty, the 1- year limited warranty period on the replacement piece of equipment starts from the original date of purchase, not the date of replacement. Original receipt is required to verify warranty status.

The Lifetime Service Agreement status on a tool is not transferable to persons other than the original purchaser.

ONE WORLD TECHNOLOGIES, INC., LIMITED WARRANTY STATEMENT FOR FEDERAL EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEMS NON-ROAD ENGINES

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY

Your new RIDGID brand gasoline-powered product complies with all applicable U.S. EPA and Environment Canada emissions regulations.

The evaporative emissions portion of this coverage, as described below, is provided by One World Technologies, Inc. Separate emissions warranty coverage for other emissions-related components is provided by the engine manufacturer, as stated in a separate “Emission Control System Warranty” included with this product. Of course, this product also includes a warranty that is not limited to emissions-related components, as described elsewhere in this operator’s manual.

YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

The U.S. EPA and One World Technologies, Inc., are pleased to explain the evaporative emission control system's warranty on your 2012 model year small off-road equipment. One World Technologies, Inc., must warrant the evaporative emission control system on your small off-road equipment for the period listed below, provided there has been no abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of your equipment.

Your evaporative emission control system may include parts such as: fuel tanks, fuel lines, fuel caps, valves, canisters, filters, vapor hoses, clamps, connectors, and other associated components. For engines less than or equal to 80cc, only the fuel tank is subject to the evaporative emission control warranty requirements of this section

MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:

This evaporative emission control system is warranted for three years. If any evaporative emission-related part on your equipment is defective, the part will be repaired or replaced by One World Technologies, Inc.

OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the small off-road equipment owner, you are responsible for performance of the required maintenance listed in your operator’s manual. One World Technologies, Inc., recommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on your small off-road equipment, but One World Technologies, Inc., cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of receipts.

As the small off-road equipment owner, you should, however, be aware that One World Technologies, Inc., may deny you warranty coverage if your small off-road equipment or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.

You are responsible for presenting your small off-road equipment to a One World Technologies, Inc., distribution center or service center as soon as the problem exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.

If you have a question regarding your warranty coverage, you should contact One World Technologies, Inc., at 1-866-539-1710.

DEFECTS WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. The warranty period begins on the date the equipment is delivered to an ultimate purchaser.
  2. General Evaporative Emissions Warranty Coverage. The equipment must be warranted to the ultimate purchaser and any subsequent owner that the evaporative emission control system when installed was:
    1. Designed, built, and equipped so as to conform with all applicable regulations; and
    2. Free from defects in materials and workmanship that cause the failure of a warranted part for a period of three years.
  3. The warranty on evaporative emissions-related parts will be interpreted as follows:
    1. Any warranted part that is not scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in the written instructions must be warranted for the warranty period defined in subsection (b)(2). If any such part fails during the period of warranty coverage, it must be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer issuing the warranty. Any such part repaired or replaced under the warranty must be warranted for a time not less than the remaining warranty period.
    2. Any warranted part that is scheduled only for regular inspection in the written instructions must be warranted for the warranty period defined in subsection (b)(2). A statement in such written instructions to the effect of “repair or replace as necessary” will not reduce the period of warranty coverage. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty must be warranted for a time not less than the remaining warranty period.
    3. Any warranted part that is scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in the written instructions must be warranted for the period of time prior to the first scheduled replacement point for that part. If the part fails prior to the first scheduled replacement, the part must be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer issuing the warranty. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty must be warranted for a time not less than the remainder of the period prior to the first scheduled replacement point for the part.
    4. Repair or replacement of any warranted part under the warranty provisions of this article must be performed at no charge to the owner at a warranty station.
    5. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (4) above, warranty services or repairs must be provided at distribution centers that are franchised to service the subject equipment.
    6. The owner must not be charged for diagnostic labor that leads to the determination that a warranted part is in fact defective, provided that such diagnostic work is performed at a warranty station.
    7. Throughout the evaporative emission control system’s warranty period set out in subsection (b)(2), the manufacturer issuing the warranty must maintain a supply of warranted parts sufficient to meet the expected demand for such parts.
    8. Manufacturer approved replacement parts must be used in the performance of any warranty maintenance or repairs and must be provided without charge to the owner. Such use will not reduce the warranty obligations of the manufacturer issuing the warranty.
    9. The use of any add-on or modified parts will be grounds for disallowing a warranty claim made in accordance with this article. The manufacturer issuing the warranty will not be liable under this Article to warrant failures of warranted parts caused by the use of an add-on or modified part.

EMISSION WARRANTY PARTS LIST:

  2. Fuel Cap

  4. Carbon Canister
