Not happy
By Jim D on 07/14/2013
Pros: Light
Cons: Lacks power at slow speeds
Recommended: No
I cut quite a bit of steel and need a very heavy duty saw running at sower speeds. I've been using the Bosch 1590 series for years and have been very happy with them; but , unfortunately, they were discontinued. Thought I'd try Milwaukee, as I'm happy with some of their other products. Not here. Might be fine for wood; but it ends up slowing the speed down also cuts the power; where in the Bosch I can muscle through anything at slow speed. I only wish the 1590 had the light. I haven't yet tried the newer top end Bosch.

Milwaukee jig saw
By Ray Wagstaff on 10/16/2012
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Not inexpensive
Recommended: Yes
I shopped for a replacement sabre/jig saw for quite a while, and finally settled on the Milwaukee. I'm glad I did. It worked perfectly right out of the box, the directions were clear and simple, and blade changes are a snap. I like the five year warranty as well, since it was a factor in my purchase decision. It is NOT the cheapest jig saw out there (that honor might go to Skil, which was what the Milwaukee replaced in my workshop), but I believe the value is there. I also like the built-in light, dust blower, and provision for a dust collection attachment. Altogether, a nice piece of workshop equipment.
