Handy Little Impact

This is a super handy tool. The 1/4" hex makes it very versatile. With some socket adaptors this is easily used as a 1/4, 3/8, or even 1/2 inch impact (although I have a 1/2 pneumatic impact for the really big stuff). I was a little apprehensive about using a 3/8 adaptor with large bolts, but this thing worked just fine on wheel lug nuts. Battery life is great; I can't seem to run it down in less than a few hours, and the batteries charge in less than one so I never run out. Only time will tell how durable it is, but it seems very well made. I would like three modes for the "drive control", but this isn't really an issue, the two modes works just fine.

This bad boy is so powerful! I was knocking 3 1/2" deck screws without pre-drilling them, and my ex-biker turned contractor just stood in awe! He said " I never would have thought that that little thang would have that much power!"
The other really noticeable thing is the comfort of this impact driver. It has a narrower neck, behind the trigger, which makes it my new go-to tool when doing light to medium work.
It has a 2 gear range, and the first gear makes it perfect for drilling holes or semi- delicate work. But then, kick it into 2nd gear, and it will drive those screws in fast, like nobody's business!
I really like this thing! It is an over the top improvement to their last model, and, the light is much brighter and stays on around 5 seconds after taking your finger off the trigger.

Pros: Feels REAL good, POWERFUL!

If you've seen the video on Milwaukee's web sight, I will testify that it IS true! The motor is way more powerful, and with the two-speed controller, this will be your first go-to driver.
The very first thing I did was grind a 4" screw into a 2x4. The video says that it will stand up to the bigger 18 Volters, and geez, did it ever! Secondly, they improved on the thumb/index finger groove at the top of the neck, so it feels WAY more comfortable in your hand. That also translates into not feeling the vibration when you are knocking in the screws.
The battery is a 2.0 amp/hour, which from experience will go so much farther than the previous batteries.
The charger is also a 30 minute verses the last 45 to 60 minute charger.
I picked the kit up in San Diego, I was a little disappointed that it was $20.00 more than what the web page said, but I loved the last generation impact driver so much, that it is of little consequence. It was, and now is my favorite go-to driver, along with my bangin' Stiletto! Keep up the good work Milwaukee! 22 years with you......
