So, the laser is designed for the saw, but I don't think it can be aligned to exactly project a line where the actual edge of the kerf is. To do that, it would have to be on the "back side" of the blade, not at the top front where it actually fits. If one were to align it w/ the edge of the kerf, it would hit the blade teeth and not make it to the work.
The directions on aligning it were less than "heathkit quality" and it took a couple of tries to get it close. To move it to the other side of the blade would be a big ordeal, requiring aligning it again, so it's really only useful for work from one side of the blade. It also feels a little like it would not take much to move it from it's alignment.
It's impossible to see the line in the daylight outdoors. Needs to be use at night or inside.
