The NiCads don't last very long and soon they won't even take a charge. These Lithium Ions are much better.

The Dewalt lithium Ion batteries are the trick!! They are much lighter than the standard 18v Dewalt NiCad batteries and they last much longer as well
Tool up was selling a three pack for 190.00 when I bought them and I noticed and add a couple of weeks later for 145.00. I asked about their policy for sale items on recent purchases and was refunded the 45.00. You can count me in as a Toolup fan for all my purchases!
