How It Works
The RIDGID SF-2500R is in a nutshell a mini-refrigeration unit which can circulate the self contained refrigerant to its aluminum freeze head. This then will form an actual ice plug in the pipe itself in as little as 5 minutes. Some of the varying pipes it can handle are copper tubing up to 1/2″ – 2-1/2″, and steel piping ranging from 1/2″- 2″. Now, once the pipe is conveniently plugged, your planned repairs can be made. You can now make your repairs with no fear of the ice plug melting, simply because the unit remains on in order to keep the ice plug frozen for you.
